The Paramount Theater was originally built in the 1920s during the booming years of the American movie-house. Today, it is one of just 300 cinemas from the time still in existence and brings over 170 events (including film, dance, and theatre) to the community each year. The theatre is located just east of Mays Island and Riverfront Park, in the downtown area.
